Barcelona, like all cosmopolitan cities, has a night life to suit the most varied tastes though in summer some of the tourist resorts offer just as wide a choice and sometimes more. 

Entertainment ranges from genuine flamenco to the most daring of night-club sows, not to mention discos and jazz cellars. 

The entire Barcelona sea front -and particularly some of the wharfs of the old harbour- has been turned into a thriving entertainment area, while close to the major seaside resort of Salou, in the heart of the Costa Daurada, a large theme park known as Port Aventura, offering many thrilling attractions, has been built. 

You might also try your luck in one of Catalonia’s three casinos, one of which -that of Peralada (Alt Empordà)- is located in an ancient castle furnished with genuine works of art.
