Strategic Plan for the Information Society in Catalonia: "Catalonia on the Network"

"Catalonia on the Network" is a plan concerned with the Information Society that offers Catalonia the opportunity for social progress. The Plan identifies 38 initiatives in 7 specific areas. "Catalonia on the Network" has been drawn up following the reflection of working parties composed of experts from each field, and it places Catalonia among the group of countries that have made a commitment to a change of socio-economic model.
 
The Strategic Plan analyses the present position of Catalonia and its potential with respect to the development of infrastructures and the introduction of information and communication technologies into the fields of education and culture, administration, health care and business activity as a whole, in order to establish the bases for action and to define the initiatives that will enable Catalonia to assume a leading position in this new Information Society.
