The implementation of multi-channel e-government services by the Government of Catalonia C3Cat received an honourable mention at the 2010 international Stockholm Challenge Awards. Gencat was among the top four initiatives in the world in the category of public administrations: "Gencat shows that e-government can improve administrative efficiency and increase utility for the public."
The 012 service line of the Government of Catalonia has won the 2010 award for best public helpline in Spain awarded by the Spanish Association of Experts in Customer Contact Centers, as part of the Call Center + CRM Solutions Conference held in Madrid.

Fostering Arts and Design (FAD) has awarded an FAD 2010 Medal to the Director General for Citizen Attention of the Government of Catalonia, Marta Continente, which recognises the work towards excellence in the services of the Catalan Administration for its citizens.”

The Government of Catalonia has been selected as a finalist in the 2009 European eGovernment Awards. In the "eGovernment empowering citizens" category the project Citizen Care Centric Approach, C3Cat was nominated as one of the best three in Europe, while in the "administrative efficiency and effectiveness" category the e-Catalunya interactive work platform was selected as a finalist. The awards were presented in Malmö (Sweden) on 19 November 2009.

CONTRAPUNTO has won a Bronze award in the INTERACTIVE category of the Laus awards for “The origin of the festival”, an interactive project commissioned by the Government of Catalonia and published on the gencat website to give information about the Sant Jordi festival and enable users to send a greeting. The Laus awards are given for outstanding work in graphics and audio-visual communication in the following categories: graphic design, interactive, audio-visual, commercial art management, graphics and communication produced by public administrations, and students. The awards ceremony took place on 19 May 2009.

The report "Inter-sectoral report on web accessibility, presented by the Observatory of Info-accessibility of the Discapnet portal, in January 2008 awarded the distinction "Discapnet Model of Good Practices" to the Generalitat's website. This citation values positively the effort made by Gencat to improve the website's accessibility results.

In September 2007 the European eGovernment Awards awarded gencat with the distinction "Good Practice 2007". Gencat was also finalist in the third edition of the prizes which this organisation gives to the best government websites, in the category of transparency and participation. In addition, the platform for social websites e-Catalunya, gencat's space for participation, has been highlighted in a report by the European Commission as one of the three most relevant Web 2.0 experiences internationally.

In May 2006, gencat received a mention in the category of public administration website in the international Stockholm Challenge 2006 prizes. This award placed gencat as one of the five best websites within the category of ICT initiatives by public administrations.

The same year, gencat also received the ComputerWorld 2006 Prize for Impact on the Citizen of Catalonia. This prestigious award, given by the magazine ComputerWorld, rewards the organisation which has achieved most for citizens''wellbeing.
