How to deactivate the visual design
gencat sense estil
Appearance of the home page of gencat with the style sheet deactivated.

The gencat pages allow the visual design to be deactivated to access the content in simple format and in a single column, or to apply a personalised style-sheet.

Each Browser presents this option in a different menu location. The following chart shows the route which must be followed in the most prevalent browsers.

Browser Menu action
ExplorerExplorer Tools > Internet Options > Accessibility
Firefox Firefox View > Page Style > No Style
OperaOpera View > Style > Author mode
SafariSafari Edit > Preferences > Security / Web content

How to change colours

We make an effort to achieve the greatest possible contrast between the text and background colours. We also try to use colours which do not cause problems for persons with visual limitations, such as Daltonism, and colour is not used exclusively to given meaning to content (for example, green for a positive meaning and red for negative).

The configuration of colours can also be changed in your browser. Each of them presents this option in a different menu location. The following chart shows the route which should be followed in the most prevalent browsers.

Browser Menu action
ExplorerExplorer Tools > Internet Options > General > Accessibility
Firefox Firefox Tools > Content > Types and colours
OperaOpera View > Style > Author mode

A series of keyboard combinations have been defined to facilitate navigation through the most common gencat content without having to use the mouse. With these keyboard instructions, access is facilitated to persons with visual and movement difficulties who cannot use the mouse and, in general, speed and convenience is achieved.

The instruction for activating these shortcuts depends on the browser and on the operating system which is being used. The commonest combinations are those with the key Alt or Control + the key indicated:
