Journalist Iñaki Gabilondo has awarded with the XVII Premi Blanquerna, which will be presented by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

The prize-giving ceremony took place in Madrid's Centre of Fine Arts on 18th October, during an act presided over by the President of the Generalitat, José Montilla.

This year's jury is composed as follows:


  • President: Joan Manuel Tresserras i Gaju, Minister of Culture and Media.
  • Vicepresident: José Cuervo i Argudín, representing the Government of Catalonia in Madrid.
  • Members:
    • Josep Vendrell i Gardeñes, Secretary for Institutional Relations and Participation of the Department of Interior, Institutional Relations and Participation.
    • Jaume Badia i Pujol, director of Analysis and Planning of the Presidential Department.
    • Josep Bargalló Valls, director of the Institut Ramon Llull.
    • Juan Miguel Hernández León, president of the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid.
    • Alicia Gómez Navarro, director of the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid.
    • Albert Moreno Humet, secretary for the European Union of the Generalitat.
  • Secretary: Juan Felipe Vicario Peñas, secretary of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Madrid.

The Premi Blanquerna is an award presented by the Generalitat of Catalonia through its branch in Madrid. The award has been presented since 1993 and recognises those people or organizations that have stood out for their contribution, within their sector, to developing and promoting Catalonia and raising its profile.
