Although we did not include bilingual signs in the creation of these indexes, and that situations could arise whereby the signs we needed to observe were not present, what the creation of index 1 really demonstrates, is that the use of Catalan in the signage of the fuel sector is deficient: In half of the establishments, between 0 and less than 10 notices or signs of the 22 we observed were written in Catalan. One in four establishments do not use use Catalan in their signs.
