We will divide the exposition of the results that we have obtained due its finality: descriptive, explanative or predictive.

4.1. Descriptive results

In respect to eight years ago, the uses of Catalan have increased. If we affirm it in detail, we can say telegrammaticlly that 4.90% of the students chose to answer in Catalan.

The learning of Catalan as a first language increases in the pupils, in the mothers, and in fathers: 13.8%, 7.13% and 4.63%, respectively. The number of parents that have only learnt Catalan decreases substantially: 2.90% in the father’s case and 8.60% in the mother’s case. The percentage of mothers from pupils born in Catalonia increases 11.90%, and from fathers 12,8%. The inter-generation transmission of Catalan increases always when possible – it cannot do when both parents are Catalan speakers because it always transmits Catalan-: 8.8% (father Catalan speaker – mother Spanish speaker) and 7.6% when both of them are Spanish speakers. It is more significant in this last case every year it has increased nearly 1.1%.

The Catalan speaking groups increase considerably: 4% the exclusive Catalan speakers and 7.50% the ones that speak more Catalan. (With pupils that came from the group of more Spanish speaking), otherwise, the exclusive Spanish speakers do it very slightly (0.30%).

4.2. Explicative results

4.2.1. Correlation, discriminate analysis and analysis of multiply regression

In the epilogue of the objectives, we have seen that the investigation pretended to delimit once more the principal variables that favoured the use of languages and, following the theoretical model proposed, we have obtained the following results:
