This is your guide to the adaptation of your retail outlets' openings times in line with Catalan regulation. The act on opening hours allows outlets to open for a maximum of 12 hours a day between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm, up to 72 hours a week at the most. Such outlets are required to remain closed on Sundays and public holidays and to bring forward their closing time to 8 pm on 24 and 31 December. Retailers may freely distribute their daily opening times within these limits. Aside from certain exceptions depending on the type of outlet, retail establishments may generally open on a maximum of 8 Sundays or public holidays throughout the year, acording to the calendar established by the Generalitat.
