Catalan Communities AbroadDelegations of the Catalan Government in Lleida, Girona, Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre have also organised commemorative events for the National Day in their respective regions.
At 12 a.m. on Friday 12 September, a commemorative event for the National Day of Catalonia will take place in Madrid, organised by the Government Delegation in Madrid. President José Montilla will host a reception at the Students' Residence, to which personalities from the capital's political, economic and cultural world have been invited.
On 11 September, the Government's delegation in France will organise a reception to celebrate the National Day. At 6 p.m. at this delegation, Joaquim Ferret, Chair of Administrative Law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a member of the Generalitat's Legal Advisory Commission and ex-director of the Catalonia School of Public Administration, will give a lecture under the title "Catalonia, national reality and Autonomous Community: its powers". Representatives of French institutions, as well as members of Parisian civil society and the Catalan community resident in Paris, will attend.
The Government delegation in the United Kingdom will organise a reception jointly with Catalans UK, the Catalan Centre of Scotland and the Anglo-Catalan Society, at 7.30 p.m. on 10 September.
The Government's delegation in Germany will hold a reception at 12 p.m. on 12 September, in Hotel Radisson SAS, which will involve the participation of the Berlin Catalan Centre.
